3 Mistakes Students Make When Choosing a University Abroad

Studying overseas can be an amazing experience. But navigating daily life at new country, culture & University you aren’t familiar with requires careful planning to ensure a happy and successful journey.

If you are seriously planning to study abroad, avoid these three common mistakes when choosing a global university.

1. Not adequately researching locations: 

Many Students select the location they want to study based on their family, friends and relatives staying abroad, it’s good to have someone to help but it doesn’t mean that they can support you completely.

Exploring school locations means thinking about geography and weighing factors like your preference for a small or big city, cost of living, and internship and work opportunities.

Choosing a university only because of its location “might cause problems if the student is not ready for the challenges of the location,”

“No matter where you land, let it be somewhere that you feel will allow you to grow as a student, as an international citizen and as a person.”

2. Not accounting for all costs:

Most of the student’s just looks up to the tuition fee what they need to pay. Students should remember to account for costs beyond tuition – including daily living expenses, such as food and other necessities, as well as leisure activities – before they choose to study Abroad. This is particularly important for students coming from countries with weaker currencies.

3. Not having strong English-language skills or local language required as per country:

Prospective international students attending an English-language university or other countries preferred there language as Germany, France should be prepared for lectures and assignments as well as conversations between classmates and professors that are entirely in there preferred language.

Simply passing the language exam requirements as per country will not help the student completely. As it’s just not just to qualify the exam it’s for students to understand and learn and grow in their fields.

So it’s imported for students to adept the language as equal to their mother tongue.

 To improvise students should read and write in English or preferred language daily, including reading novels and watching movies without subtitles and summarizing both in writing.
