Job Opportunities in USA

As an undergraduate or postgraduate international student in the United States, employment is possible on a part-time basis for up to 20 hours every week. During the first year of education, students may only work on-campus, such as at the school’s gym, cafeteria, bookstore, or library. From second year onwards you can work part times of the campus. Job opportunities in USA are more compared to any other country, but as an international student, job hunting will be a little more complicated for you than it might be for domestic students.

Start early; It is going to take you longer to find employment with a company that will sponsor employees who need work visas. Your school is sure to offer career services, and they are likely to have a good deal of experience helping international students to find jobs in the US following graduation. Take advantage of that experience, and set up a meeting with a career coach to discuss your specific situation and goals. Also, take advantage of your school’s community; talk to alumni groups who have gone through the same process. Build up relationships with your professors and even parents of your American friends.

After completing your study you are allowed to stay for a maximum of one year to find a job. If you get a job within that period, you will get a work visa to stay and work in USA.
